Set of 5 original vintage issues of Domus Magazine, dating from 1982. This bundle includes the following issue numbers: 625, 626, 630, 632 and 633. Domus is internationally regarded as one of the most influential monthly reviews of architecture, interior design, and art, and has played a key role in shaping modern architectural and design discourse. Domus was founded in 1928 by the architect Gio Ponti, together with publisher Gianni Mazzocchi — two leading figures in Italian architecture and publishing whose collaboration helped establish Domus as a leading voice in 20th-century design. Issues from the 1970s reflect a period of architectural experimentation and cultural transition. Typical content includes contemporary architectural projects, urban and residential design, theoretical essays, interior concepts, and explorations of new materials and construction methods, alongside contributions related to art and visual culture. Each issue is documented with individual cover photography and interior spread images, providing a clear and transparent visual overview of the condition and content of the magazines. Offered as a cohesive set, these original vintage issues are no longer in print and are highly sought after by collectors, architects, designers, and scholars. Together, they form a valuable reference archive capturing the spirit of late 20th-century European and international design culture.

This piece is from late in the fabulous Atomic Space Age design movement. The cobalt blue resign glass ball is interspersed with clear glass facet circular 'windows' and finished with the brass accents. Designed by a young Marita Voigt during the design period where the architecture, industrial design, commercial design, interior design, and fine arts were all heavily influenced by the themes of atomic science, as well as the Space Age. This faceted design series was an icon of GDR design by Voigt for Harzkristall in the early Seventies. In 1946, Sudeten Germans were expelled from their homeland and founded the Hohlglasveredelungsgenossenschaft Wernigerode as a 'resettler cooperative'. The glassworks is the only and northernmost glassworks in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany and today, is one of the few glassworks in Germany that produces mouth-blown products. Areas of expertise include vases, glass lights and the production of glass parts and lamps for the preservation of monuments and glass art products in collaboration with renowned artists. Since 2013, Harzkristall has been part of the Gerhard Bürger Foundation, which promotes the promotion of science and research, art and culture, preservation and preservation of monuments as well as the promotion of education, vocational training and student support. The piece is in excellent condition, with minor patina on the brass parts of the item.

Beautiful marked tapestry of the Spanish artist/painter Joan Miró based on his painting Femme et Oiseaux (1966). A playful, experimental approach of art is characteristic for Mirós work. Joan Miró stood literally at the base of the founding of the famous CoBrA movement which arose during an exposition of his work in Paris, where the artists Karel Appel, Asger Jorn en Constant Nieuwenhuis coincidentally met each other. Experimenting with all kinds of materials, colours, forms and techniques were a source of knowledge and renewal for Miró as well as the other CoBrA-artists.

An impressive and rare large-scale studio pottery vase by Armogres (Bouffi), featuring a striking hand-decorated penguin motif rendered in rich, earthy tones. The vase is exceptionally tall at 43 cm, with a generous, rounded body that gives it a strong sculptural presence.

The surface is finished in layered ochre, amber, brown and deep black glazes, creating a tactile, almost volcanic texture typical of high-quality French studio ceramics of the period. Two stylised penguins are depicted in relief-like form, their silhouettes emerging organically from the glaze, giving the piece both narrative charm and strong graphic impact.

This vase is entirely handmade, with visible artisanal character and subtle glaze variations that enhance its uniqueness. The thickly potted form and balanced proportions reflect the confident, expressive approach associated with Armogres production, which is highly regarded and increasingly sought after by collectors of European studio pottery.

The vase is in an excellent preserved condition with expected signs of age and firing-related glaze nuances consistent with hand-crafted ceramics. No structural damage observed. Due to its size, subject matter and decorative strength, this vase stands out as a statement piece suitable for both collectors and interior-focused display. Dimensions: Height 43 Diameters: Top 17 Opening 12 Belly 26 cm.

Set of 2 original vintage issues of Domus Magazine, dating from 1984. This bundle includes the following issue numbers: 648 and 653.

A well-made pair of mid-century swivel office chairs with a sturdy five-star pedestal base, bakelite armrests and subtly blackish-brown melange upholstery, giving the fabric more depth and warmth than a flat brown tone. The seats are height-adjustable and supported by a solid metal column with chrome-finished elements, reflecting the functional and durable design language of post-war office furniture.

In terms of construction, materials and proportions, these chairs are strongly reminiscent of Gispen models from the 1960s—particularly in the use of bakelite armrests, sober upholstery and the technical pedestal base—though no maker’s marks are present, so attribution remains cautious. Both chairs are in good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age, and remain fully functional and comfortable. Dimensions: Height 85 Width 56 Depth 52 Seating height 53 cm.

This striking pendant lamp was produced in Italy during the late 1960s to early 1970s and is attributed to Murano glass production. The lamp features a beautifully sculpted glass shade composed of two layers: a thick, vibrant orange outer layer and a white inner glass core that softly diffuses the light. The glass is held in place by an internal metal cross-shaped structure, inserted through four integrated glass lugs at the top of the shade—an elegant and characteristic construction detail. When illuminated, the lamp emits a warm, glowing light, with the white inner layer preventing glare while enhancing the depth and richness of the orange glass. The rounded, sculptural form gives the piece a strong visual presence, making it ideal as a statement light above a table, in a living space, or as an accent in a modern interior. The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The lamp has been tested and is fully functional. However no damage has been observed, it may show light signs of use. Seated Nudy signed by Daron. Mixed media on canvas. 1970s. This large-scale figurative painting, signed “Daron”, represents a typical example of European studio practice from the 1970s. Executed in mixed media on canvas, the work depicts a seated female nude rendered in bold primary colors, including yellow, red, blue, and green.

The figure is defined by strong black contour lines, while areas of shading appear to be executed with a wax-based medium, possibly oil pastel or crayon, resulting in a dry, graphic surface texture. The woman’s blue hair creates a striking contrast with the surrounding color fields, reinforcing the emphasis on flat color, simplified form, and direct figuration.

The construction of the work suggests a collage-like process: the nude figure appears to have been painted separately, cut out, and subsequently applied onto a painted red and green background. This layered approach reflects an experimental but informal working method characteristic of the period.

The composition remains firmly figurative and decorative in nature, prioritizing visual immediacy over conceptual depth. While the work shows period-specific stylistic traits and material experimentation, it does not present the level of technical refinement or compositional complexity associated with academically trained or widely recognized artists.

Signed but otherwise undocumented, the painting stands as a modest, period-typical example of 1970s figurative mixed-media painting.Dimensions Visual: Height 100 Width 80 cm.

Set of 3 original vintage issues of Domus Magazine, dating from 1983. This bundle includes the following issue numbers: 637, 640 and 645.

Bright Youth, inspired by Maurice Dupont, oil on canvas, Western Europe, mid–late 20th century. This figurative portrait titled Bright Youth is a stylistic homage to the work of Maurice Dupont. The painting depicts a youthful figure rendered in bright, optimistic colors and simplified forms, emphasizing vitality and mood rather than strict realism.

The composition and handling clearly reference mid-20th-century modernist portraiture, with flattened pictorial space, stylized facial features, and a light, expressive palette. Brushwork is confident and fluent, suggesting familiarity with the visual language it draws upon.

The painting is signed with the name “Dupont,” accompanied by a second, different name, indicating that the work should be understood as inspired by rather than authored by Maurice Dupont. It is therefore offered as a derivative or homage work, not as an original by the named artist.

Despite its derivative nature, the painting has clear decorative appeal and is competently executed, making it a charming and accessible example of modernist-inspired figurative painting. Dimensions Frame: Height 63 Width 52 cm. Visual: Height 60 Width 49 cm.

This atmospheric mid-century design pendant lamp is attributed to Doria, Germany, circa 1960s, and reflects the elegant material combinations typical of mid-century German lighting. The lamp features a warm brass frame paired with a generously shaped glass shade reminiscent of a soft, pudding-like form. The rounded silhouette gives the lamp a gentle, sculptural presence, while the clear glass beautifully diffuses the light, creating a rich and inviting ambiance. When illuminated, the light feels warm and decorative rather than harsh, making it particularly suitable for living spaces, dining areas, or hallways. Comparable designs by Doria are known both as pendant lamps and ceiling-mounted plafonniers, reinforcing the attribution and period. This hanging version stands out for its balanced proportions and timeless appeal. The lamp is in fair vintage condition. The glass shade is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips. Coastal Dunes – Jurriaan van Hesseling, The Netherlands, 1960s–1970s. Medium: Oil or mixed media on canvas / board. Dutch School, 20th century. This vintage painting by Jurriaan van Hesseling belongs to the tradition of Dutch post-war painting from the 1960s–1970s, a period marked by expressive freedom, painterly experimentation, and a renewed focus on subjective interpretation of landscape and form.

Although biographical documentation on the artist remains limited, the clearly legible signature confirms authorship, situating Van Hesseling as an identifiable Dutch painter active during the mid-20th century. The work demonstrates a confident, expressive handling of paint, suggesting an artist working within the broader context of post-Impressionist and expressionist influence that remained prominent in Dutch painting during this period.

The composition presents a coastal landscape characterized by rolling dune formations and restless surf beneath a brooding, overcast sky. Thick, energetic brushstrokes and a vigorous application of paint animate the surface, creating a dynamic interplay between land, sea, and atmosphere. Color is employed expressively rather than descriptively, reinforcing movement and emotional intensity rather than strict naturalism.

The painterly surface, marked by textured layers and visible gesture, reflects a practice rooted in expressive realism and post-Impressionist sensibilities, evoking associations with artists who emphasized emotional resonance and material presence over literal representation. The landscape functions not merely as a depiction of place, but as an experiential field shaped by wind, light, and motion.

This work stands as a representative example of mid-20th-century Dutch expressive landscape painting, combining recognizable motifs with a free, intuitive painterly language characteristic of the era. Dimensions Frame: Height 80 Width 99 cm. Visual: Height 61 Width 80 cm.

This decorative ceramic wall tile is a classic example of mid-century Ruscha wall design, combining tactile relief with bold glaze contrasts that are instantly recognisable to collectors of West German pottery. The composition centres on a raised abstract floral / cellular motif, built from rounded, bubble-like forms in high-gloss orange and amber enamel. These glossy elements sit in strong contrast against a matte, earth-toned background in mottled brown, beige, and olive hues—creating depth, shadow, and a rich volcanic surface effect reminiscent of Fat Lava aesthetics, though executed here with more precision and gloss. The tile’s relief is pronounced, giving it a sculptural presence despite its compact size. At approximately 3 cm thick, it projects confidently from the wall and works equally well as a standalone accent or as part of a grouped wall installation. The piece is in a very well preserved condition. This piece sits firmly within Ruscha’s decorative wall tile production, valued for its expressive glaze chemistry, strong colour contrast, and architectural relief. The vivid orange enamel—warm, saturated, and reflective—elevates the tile above more subdued examples and makes it especially attractive for collectors and interior designers alike. Dimensions: Height 24 Width 18 Depth 3 cm.

A rare and highly restrained early electric wall lamp, dating to the early decades of domestic electrification. Due to its early date, fragile construction and transitional character, this lamp should be regarded as a true collector’s piece rather than a purely functional object. The design is striking in its functional minimalism: a black metal wall construction with delicate linear arms, paired with a softly diffusing frosted glass shade. The visible fabric-covered power cord and simple mounting clearly point to an early production period, when electric lighting was still transitioning from gas and oil. The composition is almost graphic in character and strongly anticipates later Dutch modernist design, with affinities to early utilitarian makers such as Tomado, though no definitive attribution can be made. This piece feels closer to an object of industrial history than mere decoration. A quiet, honest example of early modern lighting design. The lamp has been tested and is in working condition. As with all vintage items or lighting, this piece may show light signs of use, which add to its authentic character. Dimensions: Height: 29 cm, Width: 17 cm, Depth: 11 cm

Magical Realist Kettle and Jug Still Life by Ferdinand Vercnocke, oil on canvas, Belgium, mid-20th century. This still life by Belgian painter Ferdinand Vercnocke presents a carefully composed interior scene imbued with a quiet, timeless atmosphere. The composition features a copper kettle and copper pan, a glass wine jug, and a small pewter oil lamp, arranged on terracotta floor tiles against a textured wall.

Executed in oil on canvas, the painting exemplifies Vercnocke’s distinctive magical realist approach. Everyday objects are rendered with meticulous clarity and material sensitivity, yet the scene transcends simple realism through its controlled lighting, stillness, and contemplative mood. The warm glow of copper, the translucency of glass, and the muted metallic surface of the oil lamp are handled with refined precision.

The restrained architectural setting and balanced composition evoke a medieval or timeless interior, emphasizing silence and introspection rather than narrative action. Such qualities are characteristic of Vercnocke’s work, in which domestic objects become carriers of atmosphere and symbolic presence.

Ferdinand Vercnocke is known for his refined, symbolist-inflected realism, often described as magical or metaphysical. His oeuvre includes still lifes, interiors, and figurative compositions that combine technical mastery with a subdued sense of mystery. This work represents a strong example of his mid-20th-century production.

An especially charming and visually playful set of six vintage kitchen chairs by Brabantia, produced in The Netherlands during the 1960s. This set stands out for its deliberately varied composition, featuring a harmonious mix of colours and finishes: white, cream, orange, red, woodlook, and a darker rosewood-style woodgrain.

All chairs share the same classic Brabantia design language — Formica seats and backrests with black edging, combined with sturdy chrome tubular steel frames — ensuring visual coherence despite the colour variation. The result is a lively yet balanced ensemble, perfect for those who enjoy character, individuality, and a relaxed, eclectic look around the kitchen or dining table.

Rather than a uniform set, this group celebrates variation and personality, making it ideal for creative interiors, family kitchens, or informal dining spaces where warmth and originality matter more than strict symmetry.

The chairs are in very well preserved vintage condition. As with all vintage seating, they may show light signs of use, which add to their authentic character. Dimensions: Height 79 Width 40 Depth 48 Seating height 44 cm.

Geborgenheid (Shelter / Inner Protection) – Ferdinand Vercnocke, Belgian School, signed 1959. Oil on canvas.
Belgian painter Ferdinand Vercnocke is known for his symbolic, surrealist-influenced figurative compositions in which psychological depth, metaphysical symbolism, and refined technical execution converge. His work belongs to the tradition of European post-surrealist symbolic realism, combining narrative clarity with inner, spiritual meaning.

Geborgenheid presents a monumental symbolic composition centered on a maternal figure holding a child, constructed as an archetypal image of protection, safety, and inner shelter. The central female figure is rendered frontally with calm stillness and psychological presence, functioning not as a portrait but as a symbolic embodiment of care and containment. The child, held close to the mother’s face, reinforces themes of vulnerability, trust, and emotional dependence.

The surrounding environment introduces layered symbolic elements: a Buddha-like sculptural presence, ritualistic architectural forms, and structured golden objects, creating a metaphysical spatial framework that suggests spiritual guardianship and transcendental protection. These elements operate as symbolic architecture rather than narrative background, transforming the scene into an inner landscape of psychological and spiritual meaning.

In the foreground, the inclusion of a porcelain jug and cup introduces a domestic still-life element, grounding the metaphysical symbolism in everyday human ritual and intimacy. This contrast between the sacred and the domestic is characteristic of Vercnocke’s visual language, where inner life, spirituality, and human experience coexist within a single symbolic structure.

The work exemplifies Vercnocke’s distinctive artistic approach: a controlled, serene surface concealing a complex symbolic system, merging figurative surrealism, allegorical realism, and metaphysical symbolism. Geborgenheid stands as a contemplative meditation on inner safety, spiritual protection, and psychological containment, expressed through a refined symbolic composition of timeless character. Dimensions Frame: Height 92 Width 82 cm. Visual: Height 79 Width 69 cm.

Striking Fat Lava ceramic wall tile by Ruscha Keramik, produced in West Germany during the 1960s. The tile features a powerful rearing red horse rendered in bold relief against an intense deep azure blue (Azurblau) ground. The surface is finished in Ruscha’s characteristic powdery, lava-textured matte glaze, giving the blue an exceptional depth and velvety saturation. With its substantial thickness and architectural scale, this piece reads unmistakably as a statement wall object rather than decorative wall pottery. The dynamic contrast between the sculptural red horse and the richly textured blue field is a hallmark of Ruscha’s strongest figurative designs. This piece is in excellent condition, no damage observed. Ruscha was one of the leading manufacturers of architectural and sculptural wall ceramics within the West Germany Pottery movement. Their figurative wall tiles—especially animal motifs—are among the most sought-after works from their production, valued for their bold relief, expressive glazing, and strong graphic impact. The Azurblau glaze seen here is particularly prized: a deeply saturated, matte blue that intensifies contrast and elevates the sculptural quality of the relief. Dimensions: H 42 W 23, Thick 3 cm
