A striking vintage spiral wall lamp by Raak, produced in the Netherlands during the late 1960s–1970s. The lamp features a sculptural spiral construction with a dark wood-effect exterior and a white interior, designed with circular openings that reveal mirrored reflector bulbs. When illuminated, these apertures cast a dramatic, rhythmic play of light and shadow across the wall. This design is quintessential Raak: bold, architectural, and experimental, with a strong emphasis on light as an active visual element rather than mere illumination. The vertical spiral form gives the lamp a totem-like presence, making it an expressive wall object even when switched off. Particularly effective with mirror-reflex bulbs, as intended in the original design.
