Description
A well-made pair of mid-century swivel office chairs with a sturdy five-star pedestal base, bakelite armrests and subtly blackish-brown melange upholstery, giving the fabric more depth and warmth than a flat brown tone. The seats are height-adjustable and supported by a solid metal column with chrome-finished elements, reflecting the functional and durable design language of post-war office furniture.
In terms of construction, materials and proportions, these chairs are strongly reminiscent of Gispen models from the 1960s—particularly in the use of bakelite armrests, sober upholstery and the technical pedestal base—though no maker’s marks are present, so attribution remains cautious. Both chairs are in good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age, and remain fully functional and comfortable. Dimensions: Height 85 Width 56 Depth 52 Seating height 53 cm.
