Description
Large-format ceramic wall tile by Ruscha Keramik, produced in West Germany during the 1960s. This striking elongated plaque features two stylised floral forms rendered in high-gloss enamel, with a vibrant palette of aqua, olive green and turquoise tones, contrasted by intense orange-red petals and enriched with genuine gold accents. Unlike Ruscha’s matte Fat Lava works, this piece showcases a lustrous, glassy glaze finish, giving the colours exceptional clarity and depth. The floral relief is framed by a dark ground, further amplifying contrast and visual impact. The generous vertical format gives the tile a distinctly architectural presence, making it ideal as a standalone wall statement. Ruscha was a key innovator within the West Germany Pottery movement, producing both matte Fat Lava ceramics and highly expressive gloss-enamelled wall works.
