Domus is internationally regarded as one of the most influential monthly reviews of architecture, interior design, and art, and has played a key role in shaping modern architectural and design discourse. Domus was founded in 1928 by the architect Gio Ponti, together with publisher Gianni Mazzocchi — two leading figures in Italian architecture and publishing whose collaboration helped establish Domus as a leading voice in 20th-century design. Issues from the 1970s reflect a period of architectural experimentation and cultural transition. Typical content includes contemporary architectural projects, urban and residential design, theoretical essays, interior concepts, and explorations of new materials and construction methods, alongside contributions related to art and visual culture. Each issue is documented with individual cover photography and interior spread images, providing a clear and transparent visual overview of the condition and content of the magazines. Offered as a cohesive set, these original vintage issues are no longer in print and are highly sought after by collectors, architects, designers, and scholars. Together, they form a valuable reference archive capturing the spirit of late 20th-century European and international design culture.

Italian Design Glass Magazine Rack with Brass Accdents by Gallotti & Radice, Italy 1970s. This elegant mid-century Italian magazine rack was produced by Galotti i Radice, one of the pioneers in high-quality glass furniture design in post-war Italy. The piece features a thick, gently curved glass panel suspended within a sculptural metal frame, creating a refined balance between transparency and structure. The frame combines warm brass elements with metal supports, giving the rack both visual lightness and architectural presence. The flowing, almost bridge-like silhouette is characteristic of Italian modernist design from the 1960s, where functional objects were treated as sculptural statements rather than purely utilitarian items. The substantial glass sheet acts as the main magazine holder, subtly flexed and securely mounted into the frame, while the brass accents add a luxurious contrast to the cool clarity of the glass. This piece works equally well as a functional magazine rack or as a standalone decorative object in a refined interior. Very good vintage condition, no damage observed. Still Life with Lobster and Lemon by R. Viliruvy, Oil on canvas, Belgium, 1951.

This large-format still life, dated 1951 and signed “R. Viliruvy”, presents a carefully balanced composition centered on a vivid red lobster placed on a pewter dish, accompanied by a halved lemon. Additional elements, including a ceramic vessel and a whole piece of fruit, possibly a mango or an uncut citrus, are arranged in the background against a serene, restrained setting.

Executed in oil on canvas, the painting reflects the classical European still-life tradition of the early post-war period. The artist demonstrates a confident handling of color and texture, most notably in the contrast between the intense red of the lobster, the cool metallic sheen of the pewter dish, and the soft translucency of the lemon flesh.

The horizontal format enhances the sense of calm and spatial balance, allowing each object to occupy its own visual space without overcrowding the composition. The muted background reinforces the stillness of the scene, drawing attention to the material qualities of the depicted objects rather than to narrative or symbolism.

Although biographical information on R. Viliruvy remains limited, the signed and dated work is firmly anchored in the mid-20th century. The painting should be regarded as a solid and representative example of post-war European still-life painting, notable for its scale, compositional clarity, and classical subject matter.. Dimensions Frame: Height 62,5 Width 113 cm. Visual: Height 50,5 Width 100 cm.
