The Serpente table lamp is an iconic example of Italian mid-century modern lighting, designed in 1965 by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce. This sculptural lamp is characterized by its bold, architectural form: a heavy black base supports a sweeping, curved stem that appears to “hold” a large white mushroom-shaped diffuser. The generously sized shade, made of opaline methacrylate, softly diffuses the light, creating an even and atmospheric glow. The visual contrast between the dark base and the luminous dome enhances the lamp’s futuristic yet timeless presence. The Serpente is celebrated for its balance of weight and lightness, function and sculpture. It exemplifies Martinelli’s forward-thinking approach to lighting design, where form, material, and light interact as a unified whole. Today, the lamp is regarded as one of the most recognizable and enduring designs by Martinelli Luce. A true design classic, equally suited as a statement piece in a modern interior or as a collectible example of Italian design history. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition. The base and stem retain their deep black finish, and the white diffuser is clean and well preserved, with no cracks or damage. The lamp is fully functional and presents exceptionally well, showing only minimal signs of age. Dimensions: Height: 50 cm, Diamater shade: 42 cm, diameter foot: 23 cm

Mid-century Modern Brass Decorative Nut Cracker in Walnut Shape, 1970s. This is a solid brass nutcracker, sculpted in the naturalistic form of a walnut. The two-part hinged construction opens smoothly to reveal a functional interior designed for cracking nuts, while the exterior features a richly textured shell surface. The warm golden patina shows authentic age and use, enhancing its sculptural presence rather than detracting from it. Both practical and decorative, this piece sits comfortably within mid-century modern tableware and object design, when everyday tools were often elevated into tactile design objects. Its substantial weight and solid casting confirm quality manufacture rather than later lightweight decorative reproductions. A highly decorative object for display in a kitchen, bar setting, or design-focused interior, equally appealing to collectors of brass objects and mid-century utilitarian design. It’s in an excellent condition. Dimensions: Height 7 Width 13 Depth 9 cm
