The Serpente table lamp is an iconic example of Italian mid-century modern lighting, designed in 1965 by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce. The Serpente is celebrated for its balance of weight and lightness, function and sculpture. It exemplifies Martinelli’s forward-thinking approach to lighting design, where form, material, and light interact as a unified whole. Today, the lamp is regarded as one of the most recognizable and enduring designs by Martinelli Luce. A true design classic, equally suited as a statement piece in a modern interior or as a collectible example of Italian design history. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition.
